Questions and Answers
What differentiates your services from a learning center downtown?
ResearchGate, Standford University, and the Thomas Fordham Institute all published recent findings that undivided, individualized attention is still the driving force behind high-impact learning. While My ELL Coach still offers small group sessions, we specialize in 1-to-1 instruction. Individualized instructions remains the most effective, high-impact method available. Most learning centers have at least a 3-to-1 ratio of students to tutors, and often even higher. While that may offer a less expensive option, it statistically is also a less effective one.
English is my second language and I consider myself fluent. But I am not always understood at work or in social settings when I speak and I don't know why. Can you help me?
Yes, we can.
It is not uncommon for fluent ESL/EFL learners to pass written exams and still not be clearly understood when speaking American English. Helping people like yourself to be better understood, especially at work and other high-stakes environments, is our primary purpose and ultimate objective.
We are happy to help!
Do you offer discounted group session?
We do offer small group sessions. Obviously these sessions are structured much differently than our 1-to-1 sessions, but they do serve a purpose, especially for businesses and organizations.
If you are the designated representative of a business, school, church or other non-profit with at least 10 participants, you may qualify for a per person/per hour discount when paid in advance. Submit your request and My ELL Coach will email you the pre-qualifying check list.
Can I schedule a free consultation?
Though we do not offer free consultations, we are happy to answer any questions you may have using the Contact Us page.
No, we do not. An exception would be a high school senior who is 18 years old. Our clients must be 18 years of age or older, in compliance with our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
